Happy Fall Y'all!

This weekend was so much work and so much fun all at the same time. Che and I took on the garage by cleaning, throwing stuff out, and painting it. Tayen stayed in Blackfoot with Che's mom while we did this and we were able to get a lot done. With the help of my mom, we were able to get almost the whole garage painted in a night. The only thing to do now is organize and make it look good. It was quite the project, but the worst part is over. Che did an amazing job on the whole thing including put in new lights and pretty much rebuild the whole garage...I was just his helper :)

 

I love starting the Fall season off with projects, but what I love more is decorating!! I've already put up all my Fall decorations and it feels so good. We've been using an old coffee table as our entertainment center and my dad as kindly taken the time to spray it and make it look nice so I can use it in my living room. I'm so excited to decorate it! Che and I then decided it was time to get a real TV stand, so our new one should be arriving this week! Yay!! Can't wait to decorate that too.

 

The rest of the weekend, we went to Spud Day and had a great time. It was my first time going and I loved it!! I even liked it as much as the fair! I got my teriyaki bowl, funnel cake, and a huge Diet Coke, so that's all that matters ha ha. Che was shocked I had never been, but he also grew up in Shelley and knows all about Spud Day.

It was such a fun weekend and I am so grateful I was able to spend it with my little family. I feel so incredibly blessed. And to top it all off, we were able to go to church as a whole family today. Che's had to work so Tayen and I have been on our own for a few weeks. It was such a wonderful Sunday and Che was also set apart as 2nd Counselor in the Elder's Quorum. He's really excited and we're super excited for him! So far a great start to Fall! It's my favorite time of year (I think you all know this by now ha ha). We look forward for more Fall fun and more "firsts" for our little Tayen!

Don't Forget Us, Ashton

Last weekend we had our annual Murri Family Reunion. We look forward to this reunion every second week of August and every year it is amazing. We go to our grandparents cabin located in Ashton and we stay for the whole weekend, Thursday-Saturday. Some even stay 'til Sunday! This year almost all of us were there. There were approximately 58 family member there this year and we were missing about 9 or 10.

Unfortunately this year the cabin was put up for sale and it ended up selling just before the reunion started. It is so hard to say goodbye to the cabin because we've all been going there since birth. The cabin was built in 1978 and our families have been going multiple times every year since then. From snowmachining to holidays, family reunions, boating, you name it we've done it. It's like losing a family member almost. The cabin is so much work and my grandparents have been taking care of it as well as their own home. So we know it was the right decision, but it still is so hard. Thousands of memories came from being at the cabin and it was one of the things if not the main thing that bonded our family. So in that case, I really should give the credit to my grandparents for providing it for us. They're the real heroes. It's amazing how close our families are and it's all because of them and the love they have for all of us. We missed those few family members that couldn't be there, I know they were heart broken when they couldn't come. So with that, here is our last Murri Reunion at the cabin in Ashton...

Hailey playing with Tayen. Tayen really enjoyed the cabin and it was his first trip there. I was so happy he got to experience a reunion there. He slept so much because he just loved being outside and I know it just wore him right out!

For some reason, on top of Ring Toss (which we do every year as a big tournament), volleyball was kind of the big thing this year. We had so much fun, I think I played like 7 or 8 games. I was so sore by the end of the reunion ha ha.

We ate a lot of fruit while there too. It was so hot so the fruit was amazingly refreshing.

Great Grandma and Tayen. My grandparents have around 26 grandkids and they will have 11 or 12 great grands by the end of the year...and she loves each and every one of them to death!

It was so hot that we ended up taking off Tayen's shorts. He seemed to do a lot better after that ha ha.

Brycen loved playing in the water. Don't you just love his cute hat? He likes wearing it too, which makes it even better.

This is seriously one of my favorite places in the world. It is so beautiful, peaceful, and full of hundreds, maybe thousands of memories. We are so sad to see the cabin go, but we know it's for the best. We will cherish it for as long as we live and look back and remember all the wonderful times we had. I want to thank my amazing grandparents for starting it all and for bringing our families so close. It has truly been a blessing. I'm even more grateful I get to come back to the cabin in September with my immediate family for our own reunion. It will be the last time we stay there. I look forward to all the new memories we will make in the future with our family. Don't forget us Ashton, we love you.

Summer: Part II

We've had a great summer so far and Tayen had his first 4th of July! I got him a red, white, and blue romper that says "Team USA" on it. I figured it was perfect because not only could he wear it on the 4th, but he could wear it during the olympics since we LOVE the olympics at our house!

The Saturday before the 4th we went to Che's Grandma Miles' house and had our annual Independence Day party with all of the Miles side. We had so much fun visiting everyone and especially watching all the little kids play on this huge blow up slide. I hated myself for forgetting my camera because they were just too funny. I think they hardly ate because I never saw them get off that thing except for a cookie ha ha. It was this huge blow thing that they could jump on, but it also had a big slide with hoses on the top to spray water. It looked like a blast actually. Tayen had fun getting held by everyone and being outside in such nice weather.

Wednesday, July 4th, we went shopping as a family to the mall and a few other places. For lunch we barbecued and ate underneath our new canopy. It was such a beautiful day, I loved eating outside. Later that evening we went to my parents for a barbecue, played ringtoss, and enjoyed the outdoors. We had so much fun on Tayen's first 4th of July!

4 Months

My little boy turned 4 months today (July 18) and I can't believe how fast he is growing! I look back on his newborn pictures and can't believe it. I feel like I just had him! He is the sweetest baby and I can't get enough of his smile. AT 4 MONTHS TAYEN IS:

14 pounds and 26 in long. He is in the 90% for height and the 40% for weight.

Smiling A LOT...and it is the cutest thing. He's been smiling for a while now, but it is now constant.

Laughing: When I sing popcorn popping, zipping up his jammies, making funny sounds with my mouth, high pitched talking, when I peek in his crib in the morning and he's awake staring at me, and when he sees Dad.

Rolling over on his side: He grabs his little feet and rolls over right on to his side and then continues to play with his feet. It's the funniest thing.

Possibly teething: He drools quite a bit and loves to eat his blankets and burpies.

Sleeping 8-10 hours at night

Eating every 2-3 hours

Napping for 3-5 hours a day (not all at once)

In size 2 diapers and probably going to grow out of those very soon ha ha.

So happy and excited when Dad comes home from work. He laughs for no apparent reason, just looking at his Dad makes him go crazy, I love it.

Loving his playmat. He has loved his playmat for a while, but now he gets super excited when I put him underneath it and sometimes he falls asleep.

Moving from place to place on his tummy. He can turn around in a full circle in seconds when I put him on his stomach. It is crazy. He is a mover with those limbs ha ha.

Loving the outdoors. He is so fascinated when we go outside and sit on the step. We just look around and watch the cars go by. He loves it.

Splashing in his bath. He loves taking baths and has the best reaction when I put him in for the first time.

Carter John Miller

I just wanted to congratulate my sister Alli and her husband Tyson on their new addition! They had a baby boy on Saturday, June 2nd at 4:32pm and they named him Carter John Miller. He was born 7 weeks early and is the most darling baby. He was only 4lb 7oz and 17 1/2 in long. He is so beautiful and so tiny!! He will be in the NICU for a little while but he's truckin' along and doing really well. It was a CRAZY week. The story would take too long for me to tell you, so if you'd like to hear it (which I'm pretty sure you do ha ha), go HERE to my sister's blog and she will tell you all about it in great detail. We are so excited to have another nephew and Tayen is very excited to have a new cousin!! Especially one that is so close in age! Sorry I have no pictures, but I know many will follow soon enough. Congratulations Miller Family! It was a crazy week and I give major props to my sister for going through what she did. We love you Carter! So happy that you are here and healthy!
