Spring Concert 2013

Well I think Spring is trying to come to an end and boy I can't wait for it to warm up more. Tayen is dying to spend more time outside. With all the rain and the wind, I hate taking him out too much. I feel like summer is already here though because we just finished our spring concert. Usually when it ends, I think "Ok, bring on Summer!" This year, we had a love theme entitled "A Song for You." We have a new director this year so I'm super excited for something different and new. I actually took a lot of pictures this season because I'm Historian, but here are just a select few...

Life is Good

I just love my litte family. We're having fun and just enjoying life. Che is still working out at the site and working 4 days on and off rotating day and night shifts. It gets hard, but he is used to it now. He is such a hard worker and I love him for that. He's the best husband and Dad a girl could ask for. When he's not working for the site, he goes to Blackfoot and works for his dad. He is a gym junkie and still loves his vehicles. His truck is the most beautiful thing you've ever seen inside and out. He is quite the detailer let me tell ya. I am so lucky to have married such an amazing man. We just love him to pieces!

 

Tayen just turned 14 months and has been walking for awhile now, but it seems like he's running more than walking ha ha. He loves being outside and hates it when we go in. He can't get enough of the dogs and horses at Grandma Miles' house and as soon as they get it put together, I'm pretty sure he'll love riding in Grandma and Grandpa O'Connor's new wagon! Tayen loves graham crackers, peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches, pizza, pasta, string cheese, carrots, beans, watermelon, and chocolate (just like his mom). He loves putting anything he can in the garbage so I have to really watch out for him. I accidentally threw away my measuring spoons because of it ha ha. He loves opening and closing doors, climbing the stairs, pushing cars, watching Mickey, looking at books, and playing with his toys. He's starting to throw small tantrums when he doesn't get what he wants and his naps are unfortunately getting shorter, or he won't take them at all!! Some days it's a two hour nap, another day it's an hour or nothing at all. Tayen waves "hi" and "bye" when he decides he wants to and responds to "no" really well until he decides to test me ha ha. Little stink! Tayen is such a sweet little boy though and I can't believe he will be going into nursery in 4 months!! It kills me! My little boy is growing up!

 

I am a stay at home mom and loving every minute of it. Besides taking care of Tay and the house, I am singing with The Idaho Falls Choralaires and have been doing that for a couple years now. I am also a member of the board as Historian which I really like, because I just love taking photos. I enjoy that as well as making photo books. I really enjoy being in a choir because I just love to sing. I can't NOT sing! I hope one day to be able to teach voice. I'm working on that and hope that dream will become a reality. I am the Primary Chorister and that keeps me sooo busy! It's my first calling in the Primary so talk about a lot! I love the music and the kids, but I'm still getting used to all the work. Eventually, I think it will go a little smoother for me. I'm so thankful to be in such an amazing ward. The members are so supportive and I've built some great relationships there. Life is good!

Easter 2013

Easter was a whole different ball game this year. Last year, Tayen was only 3 weeks old so he didn't move around much ha ha. This year, the Easter bunny came to our house and Tayen got some fun things! On Saturday, he dug into his basket which was so funny to watch. He got a kick out of the eggs filled with jelly beans. He shook those things forever! Earlier that day, my mom and I took Tayen to his first egg hunt in Ucon. Tayen did really well and picked up two eggs, one in each hand. I grabbed a couple more for him, but he was a happy camper with those two eggs I tell ya!

Easter Sunday, we went to church and had a really nice meeting. It's so nice when we can all be together as a family at church. Che works rotating shifts so sometimes he won't be with us for a few weeks in a row. I was so grateful he was able to spend Easter with us. For singing time, I had an Easter Egg Hunt for the Junior Primary. They loved it of course but thought I did a bad job hiding the eggs according to two little boys ha ha... "That's too easy!" After church, we changed our clothes and headed straight to Blackfoot to Grandma and Grandpa Miles' house for Easter dinner. We had crab, shrimp, salad, and garlic bread! Sooo yummy! We had a lot of fun and Tayen even got to do another egg hunt that Grandma and Grandpa Miles set up! He sure loves those eggs ha ha!

 

 

 

 The lighting was perfect for taking pictures and I couldn't get enough of my little boy and his cuteness! Those overalls just really looked adorable on him. Thanks Great Grandma Murri for the overalls! Seriously was a perfect little Easter outfit.

 

 

Before we left for home, Grandma and Tay went out to see the "doggies." He loves those dogs, it's so cute. Later that night we dropped by Grandma and Grandpa O'Connor's and had some yummy bread! We had a very wonderful Easter!

Tayen Turns One

Since last year, I've been trying to figure out what to do for Tayen's first birthday. Yes I have thought about it for that long ha ha. Themed party? Something basic? I wasn't sure until I realized how much he likes ONE show...Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! Tayen loves Mickey. So after thinking about it a bit more, I decided to skip the Micky Mouse Clubhouse theme and just do a "Mickey" themed birthday party instead. That pretty much meant a lot of different colors narrowed down to four: red, black, yellow, and white. My thoughts for this party were the simpler, the better!

 

I can't believe how fast the time flew by!! Tayen was turning one and there was nothing I could do about it! The party was a success and I think the Mickey party turned out pretty cute!

There were so many cupcake ideas out there that were just too hard or too much work. I really didn't want to stress out so I came up with this simple cupcake that took me an hour to make.

Thanks so much to all of our family that came to Tayen's party and for all of the wonderful gifts!! We had so much fun and the birthday boy got super spoiled! We love you all!

Be Mine

Valentine's Day this year was really fun!! The first 14 days of February I gave Che a valentine with a cute saying every day. He loved it and said he was always excited to be surprised with something different. On Valentine's Day, Che went to work for his dad and I secretly planned a nice dinner for him. I told him to be home at 4:30pm and he almost stayed later and I'm so glad he didn't!! Dinner was going to be ready at 5:00pm sharp! Anyway, he came home completely surprised by a candle light lasagna dinner and heart brownies for dessert.

 

 For Tayen's first Valentine's Day, he got a cute little bear and a ringpop.

 Che got me these beautiful flowers and "Pitch Perfect" while I gave him a giftcard to the Buckle.

 After dinner, Che told me that we were going to go to the store and get me a Kitchenaid!! I was so excited!! I have wanted one now for 5 years!! And it's the color I wanted...red!!
