Independence Day 2013

I knew that this year's Fourth of July would be much different then last year's. Tayen was now running around and enjoying EVERYTHING rather than just laying there being cute ha ha. We had so much fun this year for the fourth and definitely partied hard!

July 4th
We actually had the least going on the fourth. Che was working so that was a bummer. I decided to wait until next year to go to the parade and fireworks with Tayen. It was meant to be too, considering  the hour delay and tragedy that happened that night. But instead, my mom, Tayen, and I walked over to some neighbors to watch their huge fireworks. It was the first time testing Tayen with the big ones and he was so scared he was shaking. I felt so bad! I was so glad I didn't take him to the Freedom Celebration.

The next evening, all of my family headed over to my parents house for a BBQ. All the kids had so much fun playing together. I love that they're all getting old enough to enjoy each other. My little family wore matching shirts because that's what we do ha ha. We had fried chicken for dinner, icecream cones, rode four wheelers, and watched fireworks. We had a blast!

Aaron's new ride that he's fixing up. Isn't it a beaut?
We went for a little ride through the neighborhood. Don't worry, Che isn't driving in these pics ha ha.

I took maybe four or five pictures of these guys, but Brycen's face was so funny in this one I just had to pick it ha ha.

 Brycen's driving!

These pictures of Carter are exactly how he felt when the fireworks went off. Poor little guy. Tayen was the same way though. Tayen whined after each firework. Carter just hid out on Amy under a blanket ha ha. Boston however was in all the action! He was running for those fireworks ha ha! And Brycen ended up falling asleep on Grandpa.

The glowsticks were a hit! And there's Boston lovin' all the action!

July 6th
Saturday, we headed to Blackfoot for The Miles Family annual Fourth of July party. They are always a lot of fun and the kids just have a blast. They started renting a jump castle every year and the kids just go nuts for it. They can jump in it as well as slide down it with water. Tayen was too little to go in, but maybe next year :) We also put out a kiddie pool for the littler ones. Tayen has been in a pool  only once which was last year, and he sat in a bumbo the whole time. This year was totally different. At first, he wasn't a big fan because it was a little cold. But as soon as he got used to it, he wouldn't leave the pool!

I made cupcakes for the party and they were inhaled by all the kids in less than 5 minutes. I made almost a 2 dozen ha ha. I'm just glad they got eaten!! Tayen looked so cute in his swimsuit. He's my little explorer!

 Success!

Eventually Tayen's swim trunks got to heavy, so we resorted to just his swim diaper.

For us, our holiday didn't end until Tuesday when Che went back for work. That following Monday, we had a 10 week ultrasound! It was so wonderful to see our little peanut and the heartbeat. It felt like it was yesterday that I was having ultrasounds with Tayen. I'm just still in shock that we are having a second...and so blessed.

We had such an amazing Fourth of July and spending time with our families. I'm so thankful for our country and the freedoms we are blessed with. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday!
Happy Independence Day!
